Sports Friends
We are blessed to have two sports friends missionaries serving in our Church family at this time.
The ministry of Sports Friends began in 2002 when God brought together two leaders with different, yet complementary, skills and experiences. Brian Davidson had been a pioneer in the development of sports ministry in the US for 21 years. Traveling to more than 30 countries, he realized that many sports ministry initiatives, though well-intended, failed to leave the local church with the tools and resources to continue outreach into their communities. Tripp Johnston, a successful investment banking executive, had been sensing God’s leading to leave the business world and work full-time in Christian ministry. He saw many opportunities to integrate proven marketplace principles into training, developing, and multiplying effective leaders.
Ambassadors
In 1990 Ambassadors Football began as Ambassadors In Sport (AIS) in Bolton, England. They continued as AIS until the current name was adopted in 2013. The ministry was founded by a group called Missionary Athletes International focused from the beginning to partner with churches and Christian organizations to develop grass roots football ministry.
To this day the work continues on through football camps, clinics, prison ministry, school ministry, men’s and women’s teams, international tours and major event ministries at the World Cup and Olympics Games.
Ambassadors Football now has offices around the world and through diligent prayer, calling, and research continues to expand each year according to the Lord’s will.
Christian Vision for Men
CVM is a National Evangelistic Men’s Movement whose vision is to win a million men to Christ. Started by Max Sinclair in the 1980’s it now has a staff team of around 10, with a number of Regional and Area coordinators dotted across the country looking after 500 member groups.
the OASIS centre
Our vision is to see God-given transformation for the people of East Manchester; from chaos, isolation and hopelessness, to stability, community and fullness of life.
Baltic School of Ministry
Baltic School of Ministry was founded in 2009 by Daniel and Damaris Pedraza (missionaries from Argentina) and it started with a group of 30 students. Since then, more than 250 students have made it throughout the programme. However, our story goes back way beyond that. From 1994 to 2002, Latvija Bible College had been the Bible School that started on our campus. It had been founded by Terence Hall (missionary from United States) and it began with 37 students.
